TITLE I - Literacy and Academic Achievement
Santillana Professional Development opportunities focus on meeting the literacy and academic needs of students who have had different educational experiences and interrupted formal education (SIFE). Santillana Professional Development strives to assist teachers by providing strategies to help these students meet the same challenging language and academic standards required of all students. Trainings focus on using appropriate strategies, approaches, and methodologies, which can then be applied to instruction in both English and in the student’s native language
Differentiated Instruction
978-1-60396-704-4
This session focuses on Carol Ann Thomlinson’s work, which explains how teaching needs to address the differences that occur within students’ learning profiles. Participants explore ways in which instruction that emphasizes student decision-making and research is more natural and effective than one in which students are served a “one-size-fits-all” curriculum. Participants learn how to differentiate instruction and curriculum in three different areas: Content, Process, and Products.
